Aftercare:

A.W.M.

A. ABSORB: After the procedure, gently blot the area with a clean paper towel to absorb excess lymph. Do this till oozing has stopped.

W. WASH: (Days 1-7) Wash daily to remove bacteria, build up of products, oils, and dead skin. Gently wash morning and night. Dry gently with a paper towel.

M. MOISTURIZE: (Days 1-7) Apply a tiny, rice sized amount of Aquaphor 2-3 times daily with a q-tip. Do not over-apply. This will suffocate the skin and delay healing. Product should be barely noticeable on skin. NEVER put the ointment on wet skin.

Please do the following:

Day of treatment:

Please use a dry paper towel to gently pat the treatment area every 30 mins to 1hr till bedtime.

Clients are encouraged to ice once home. Place ice cubes in a clean bag or towel, ice no longer than 10 minutes every hour.

Day after treatment:

Wash the area 1-2 times daily with a gentle cleanser; Dial Soap, Cetaphil, or baby shampoo. Gently wash using a patting motion. When the scabbing or flaking begins do not continue washing and allow to dry heal for the remaining time.

Dry the area, be sure you have completely dried the area with a clean paper towel.

Apply a thin layer of ointment 1-2 times daily for 7-10 days. (Rice size amount of Aquaphor) If your brows appear greasy you are using too much product.

Days 1-7

Wash 1-2 times a day with the appropriate cleanser and pat dry immediately.

Apply a thin layer of ointment, use a rice size amount and do this 2-3 times daily. Apply just enough to saturate the scabbing, applying a thick layer will not allow the skin to breathe. Use clean fingers or a fresh Q-tip. If you applied too much blot excess with a paper towel.

-If your scabs become hard they can fall off in big chinks and take the pigment with it. Soft scabs that flake off on their own is the “key to successful pigment retention.” Do not try to rush this process.

-When showering make sure to avoid water on the tattooed area. Tilt your head backwards when shampooing/rinsing. You may apply ointment to cover your brows before you shower. You may also wash your brows in the shower with the appropriate cleanser, do not face the shower as the water pressure can remove scabbing.

Makeup brushes should be thoroughly cleansed before reusing.

Avoid the following:

  • Cosmetics in the treatment area for a minimum of 10 days.

  • Exposure to direct shower spray for 10 days.

  • Exposure to chemicals, hot tubs, sauna, salt water, chlorinated pools for 3 weeks post treatment.

  • Receiving facials, chemical peels, or exfoliating treatments for 10 days. Let your esthetician know you have FRESH healing permanent makeup.

  • Sun exposure for 30 days post treatment.

  • Picking/scratching the treated area.

  • Sleeping on your face.

Note:

-After healing the brows will appear lighter in color because of natural skin regeneration. Often, even with proper care, some areas may look uneven. It is normal. That’s why we wait 6-12 weeks from the initial session to come in for a touch up. This ensures that we achieve your Brow Goals!

-Healed results vary per individual client. We have no control over what occurs during healing. After the second session (touch up/enhancement) additional touch-up sessions may be required to obtain optimal results. Additional charges do apply.

*Following proper aftercare is necessary to achieve the best results. When scheduling an appointment for a cosmetic tattoo, keep in mind the healing time of the procedure will depend on your body’s regeneration, age, immune system and lifestyle.

Long Term Care:

-Future touch-up appointments are required to maintain the shape and saturation of color. If you do not maintain it, the color will lighten over time. Fading greatly depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment color used., broken capillaries, and iron deficiency. We suggest that if you want to maintain your brows so that they always look their best, plan to schedule a touch up once a year for optimal results.

-Use a great sunscreen on the brows if you plan to be in the su for a prolonged period of time.

-If you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure or MRI scan, inform the technician of your cosmetic tattoo.

-Use of Retin A/Tretinoin, hydroquinone, or any other rapid skin exfoliation used regularly on any area surrounding the brow area will cause premature fading.
